Faithful Lemon Tea Towel

The Faithful Lemon Tea Towel grew out of one of my original watercolor designs — bright, hopeful, and bursting with life. Lemons have long been known to bring a sense of cheer in the face of adversity — their vibrant color, fresh citrus aroma, and the familiar encouragement to “make lemonade with life’s lemons.” But the symbolism runs even deeper. In ancient times, lemons were believed to serve as an antidote to poison — a sign of salvation and of Christ’s power over sin. And a lemon, at times is known to represent the Blessed Virgin Mary’s fidelity — her steadfast love and sufferings borne for the love of God.
